My new book, LOST DIARY, is in the hands of beta readers! It's been well over a two year journey but it's done! A new genre for me: romantic suspense. Here's a query letter summary to help you visualize the story.
Chayce Wagner, (25), misses his connector flight back to Minnesota. He’s an engineering grad student and must return before classes resume. He goes standby but flights are full. Only when a traveler is yanked from the final plane in handcuffs does he win her seat. Relieved, he boards and his life changes forever. He finds a forgotten diary in his seat pocket. The anonymous writing is tempting and disturbing. He struggles to decode the cursive and grows ever more attracted to the writer. His obsession intensifies but his efforts to uncover her identity fail until he charms the right airline agent.
Esteffi Avila, (22), the diarist, is frantic. She’s in hiding, has an alias, and fears for her life. Daughter of Colombian immigrants, she learned two years earlier that before she was born they were accountants for a drug cartel. They’d stolen money and fled when they became pregnant. Their life in Florida—the only life Esteffi ever knew—was false. The cartel had found them! Her parents have now vanished. Esteffi hides in Marietta, Georgia working at a curio shop. Losing her precious diary is the last straw.
In Colombia, Natalia Morales, a rising cartel leader, is told Esteffi has been spotted. Natalia’s long delayed vengeance against the thieves who stole from her step-mother is finally at hand. She dispatches her best enforcers to the U.S. to locate the girl and recover the cartel’s money.
